Re-dedicate yourself to duty, Naniya urges teachers
TEACHERS in Kano state have been urged to rededicate themselves to duty.
The state commissioner for education, Dr. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya gave the warning while inspecting some schools in the state.
The commissioner, who was accompanied by the executive chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Dutse and some management staff of the board, stated that considering the huge amount of money released by the government in reviving the fallen standard of education, teachers have a better role to play in improving the teaching and learning condition.
Dr. Naniya further said that more schools and classroom blocks as well as instructional materials have been provided since the inception of this administration.
The schools visited by the team included Kofar Kudu Special Primary School, G. G. J. S. S. and Jarkasa Primary and Junior Secondary Schools.
While at K/Kudu, the commissioner directed the immediate construction of a drainage with a view to clear the contaminated and stagnant water at the school.
Dr. Naniya also called on the P.T.A. of Jarkasa Primary School to contribute their quota in educating their children.
