Cobra golf tourney tee-off ‘morrow
Over 100 golfers are expected to take part in the one-day Cobra amateur golf tournament at the Kano Golf course of the Kano club tommorow.
The competition which was sponsored by Air commodore Adebiyi Razak Okanlawon, commander 303 flying training school, Nigerian airforce, Kano was part of his contribution to encourage sporting activities, especially golf as well as foster greater interaction with people of the state.
Speaking on the competition, Kano-based golf professional, Lawan Malam expressed appreciation with the sponsors of the tournament, adding that this will greatly contribute positively for the development of the game in the state and the country at large.
Lawan Malam, however, called on wealthy individuals to emulate him by sponsoring more competitions in the state towards developing and encouraging teeming youths to develop their skills.
Meanwhile, the sponsors of the competition, Air commodore Adebiyi Razak Okanlawon, commander 303 flying training school, Nigerian airforce, Kano is expected to be the special guest of honour while the president and vice-president of the Kano Golf section are expected to attend thec ocassion.
