Commissioner directs immediate cleaning of S/Gari market
Traders in Muhammad Abubakar Rimi Market Company have given one week to ensure the proper clean up of the market especially the newly constructed drainages.
The ultimatum was given by the state’s commissioner of commerce, industry and cooperatives, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai while inspecting the newly contracted drainages at the market.
The commissioner, who was conducted round the projects by the sole administrator of the market, expressed concern over the attitudes of some traders in dumping refuse in the new drainages which he noted will defeat the purpose of constructing them.
Alhaji Yakasai directed the sole administrator to provide dust bins as temporary alternatives and also arrange a meeting with the market sanitization companies for a viable solution to the problem.
Earlier, the commissioner had inspected similar project at Kofar Wambai market where he expressed satisfaction with the construction work so far carried out.
He told traders that the present administration in the state would continue to execute projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
The secretary of Kofar Wambai Traders Association who conducted the commissioner round pledged the traders’ unflinching support and loyalty to the present administration in the state.
