FRSC officials beat up journalists in Awka
Some journalists attached to Anambra governor Peter Obi, received the beating of their lives in the hands of FRSC officials in Awka.
The journalists include the governor's chief press secretary Mike Udah and the Managing director of the state Broadcasting Service (ABS), Mike Chinwuba.
The duo were locked up at the FRSC head office in Awka and beaten up, on the orders of a top official of the commission.
The journalists were said to have gone to the FRSC's head office at Amawbia, to plead for the release of one of their members earlier arrested for traffic offences.
The incident was said to have occurred while the sector commander Olu Olatunji was discussing with some journalists on how to effect the release of their detained colleague.
During the incident, the FRSC officials allegedly destroyed a digital video camera belonging to the ABS and another one belonging to the Government House, Awka.
It took the intervention of the Chief of Staff, government house, Awka, Mr Chuks Iloegunam, to rescue the journalists.
