Good leadership qualities responsible for Shekarau’s victory ... says ANPP stalwart
By MUH’D HAMISU ABDULLAHI

THE recent victory of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau which enabled him to break the so called continuity jinx in Kano state has been attributed to his good leadership qualities.
Speaking to Daily Triumph in Kano, an ANPP stalwart in Kumbotso local government area of the state, Alhaji Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa observed that Malam Shekarau possesses excellent qualities and has provided the desired leadership to the people of the state.
Alhaji Garban Kauye Farawa, who since before the April 14 gubernatorial election predicted victory to Governor Shekarau, and described him as tested and trusted.
Part of Shekarau’s good qualities, he further highlighted included, his conviction that election should not be considered as due or die affair.
A firm believer in the destiny of Allah, Governor Shekarau, according to Alhaji Garban Kauye, is of the belief that it is only Allah that gives and collects power to and from whom He wishes.
Another quality that fetched the governor love and affection of the people of the state, said Alhaji Garban Kauye, is his total submission and commitment to the promotion and upliftment of Islam, a religion the governor has been genuinely supporting in the state, he added.
The ANPP stalwart believed that anybody who succeeded in rendering such support to Islam would never be disappointed, adding that God would always come to his or her aid.
These and many more qualities and efforts, he said, have encouraged the entire masses in the state to rally round Malam Shekarau to ensure his victory at poll.
He recalled that despite the black mail and campaign of columny against the governor by some opposition at various levels to stop him from contesting right from what happened during t he party’s primaries as well as the EFCC issues and that of code of conduct Bureau, the governor had scaled through at poll, thanking Allah for the victory.
He said as Malam Shekarau has now broken the continuity jinx in the state, a gesture which never happened in the political history of the state, he would definitely redouble effort to better the lot of the people of the state in his second tenure.
Alhaji Garban Kauye is of the view that Malam Shekarau has performed well in his fist tenure to the satisfaction of all and sundary in the state, recalling that thousands of people were gainfully employed, qualitative roads were constructed to stand the test of time and that his human development concept is worth noting, he stressed.
With the way and manner the masses in the state stood for the governor, especially at the recent poll, he advised Malam Shekarau to reciprocate the gesture by redoubling effort to improve their welfare.
He expressed delight that the governor has vowed to serve the people of the state diligently without recourse to political differences, believing that now there is no opposition in the ANPP and that everybody would be treated equally.
He urged those defeated at the poll to join hand in the crusade to developing the state better.
