Tribute to
Sheikh Ja’afar
By USMAN SANI SHATSARI
I am deeply mourning and gloomily consoling about the great and
unprecedented loss that shook the true Muslim brothers’ mind and
the pure footstep followers of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
This scenario was imminent in the deceased life time because he
was always used to foreseeing it. This is due to his uncountable
aggressive enemies who differed with him politically and
religiously. In effect, the deceased has no an equivalent
substitute in any way in the country.
Furthermore, the effect of this unprecedented loss cannot be
over-emphasized. This is because of the marchless role played by
the deceased toward the development of the standard of Islam and
his revolutionary activities which radically impacted in any
sector of human life in the state - politically, socially,
economically and religiously.
In the political sector, Sheikh Ja’afar crusaded a very
strategic and effective bid aimed at Islamization of Kano state
and the political system (democracy) itself which encountered a
partial success because of the saboteur’s aggression. And he was
planning for a second crusade against the just concluded
election, but unfortunately, he met up his time in the process.
Also, in the political set up again, Sheikh Ja’afar always
called the attentions of the people that an acquisition of power
is meaningless if it cannot be used to serve humanity and pursue
paradise. He also used to highlight the essence of adopting an
Islamic political system, being divine.
With regard to the economic sector, the late Sheikh bluntly
usually shown the irrational and contradictory standard of any
economic system employed by human being. He exposed the
shotcoming of capitalism, socialism and other human made
economic system invented to manage the world economic affairs.
He always talked against bank policy of exploiting usury and
human resources. He also criticized a privatization policy of
capitalism, which has an adverse impact on the grassroots as a
majority. He at the same time castigated the disadvantages of
socialism and conclusively reaffirmed the desirability of coming
back to the Islamic economic system as a solution.
To this effect, an Islamic bank was started to be formed as a
part of reforms of business and Islamization of our economic
standard.
About the social side, he totally condemned the decadence and
the degeneration of the morality of our society which happens as
a result of the forsaking of the pure Islamic teaching and
prophetic Sunnah. He fore-won people against an imminent danger
about the decadence of our moral standard, which happened to
came into reality in his life time.
Similarly, in this respect, he talked about corruption as a
stumbling block that retards the progress of Nigeria in its
small or high measure. For example, reduction of a grain
container, mixture of good and bad substance to form something
as genuine, faking and counterfeiting something original and
other social evils were strictly cursed and discouraged by the
late Sheikh in his life time.
Meanwhile, being radical and revolutionary scholar, Sheikh
Ja’afar won the affection of vigorous jihadists universally who
are at any time ready to battle for the protection of Islam. The
students of the late Sheikh dispensed across the Africa - males
and females in no small measure. Majority of them belong to the
last academic environment (university) as lecturers or students
respectively.
No doubt, the assassination of Sheikh Ja’afar is a big deal and
terroristic act to the Islamic community. This is due to the
fact that Sheikh Ja’afar was one most sedative orator,
visionary, radical, sensitive, intellect, talented, educated,
civilized, alert, predictor and unparallel Islamic scholar not
only in Nigeria but in the world in general. He was a reservoir
and infinitely knowledgeable of the Qur’anic science surrendered
by even his opponents.
In addition, the late Sheikh had excelled to a high level in
many more other fields of study. That is why he was
unchallengeable scholarly and educationally but he was being
vilified unreasonably. In as much as the baseless castigation
against him, the late Sheikh had made himself to be a very
patient personality who had a great capacity to endure
provocation.
He usually prefered to articulated and made a counter response
on whatever criticism or blunder committed against religion not
against himself personally. This was what made him famous and
prestigious personality universally.
Finally, I wish to pray a blessing and fabulous consequences
which will offer his soul overwhelming comfort permanently. May
Allah forgive him all his imperfections committed unknowingly in
this world. And may He raise a lot of Ja’afar minded who could
sustainably build up from where he stopped. And may Allah give
his family ability to endure the loss. Amin.
