Gabasawa village heads urged to enlighten people on immunization

WARD and village heads in Gabasawa local government council of Kano state have been called upon to educate their people on the importance of immunization exercise in the area.
The call was made by the sole administrator of the area, Alhaji Bala Abdullahi Rogo while speaking to the 40 village and ward leaders at the district head’s office in Zakirai.
Alhaji Rogo pointed out that wards and village heads have to educate their people on the importance of the exercise with a view to making it record more success.
He said based on the previous reports he had received, community leaders need to be commended for the role they played and urged them to redouble their effort towards the success of the exercise.
The sole administrator also reiterated his administration’s stand to continue with any developmental projects initiated by the previous government especially on health and education.
In his address, the district head of Gabasawa, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, and Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta appealed to ward and community leaders to attach great importance to the immunization exercise.
He expressed the hope that the present government will give village and wards its support toward heads ensuring the success of the immunization on which he assumed, Gabasawa will be polio- free zone before its completion.
In her remarks, the local government health care coordinator, Hajiya Hassana Ahmad expressed satisfactions with the level of cooperation given to the sole administration, saying that she would do everything possible to ensure the success of the programmes.
She said members of her staff are ready at all the time to confront any health problems in the area.
Hajiya Ahmad then appealed to villages and ward heads to always report disease case of any outbreak in their area to the nearest health centre.
