Norwegian team storms Kano for
Ramat Cup
Homlier FC of Norway owned by FIFA-licensed Nigerian agent Taju
Akinyemi will be the biggest attraction at this year's YSFON-organized
Ramat Cup competition holding in Kano, KICK OFF can report.
The annual competition, which has produced great talent in the
past such as Austin Eguavoen and Samson Siasia, holds between
February 17 and 25 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Arguably Nigeria's most-attended youth soccer competition, the
popular tournament will attract at least 25 states this year.
National President of YSFON Tunde Jamiu Ojulari gave KICK OFF a
breakdown of the program on Friday.
"Homlier Football Club of Norway will arrive Abuja en-route Kano
venue of the youth football fiesta. The team will also engage
Kogi State YSFON team in a friendly match in honour and memory
of our late National Secretary, Malam Isa Idris shortly after
the end of the Ramat Cup competition," he disclosed.
YSFON scribe Patrick Okpuire also assured on a successful
hosting of the competition. "All arrangements to make this
year's edition a grand one have been concluded. We are expecting
at least 25 states in Kano as from the arrival date of February
17.
"All teams must conduct themselves in orderly manner because in
YSFON our watch word is discipline," he warned.
Similarly, YSFON's Public Relations Officer Ben Ekpo disclosed
that all arrangements have been made to make this edition the
best in media coverage.
"Our friends from the media as usual will beam this competition,
which is organized in memory of former Head of State Murtala
Ramat Muhammad to the outside world’’.
