2007 polls: Kano ANPP sets up
campaign c’ttees

KANO state ANPP has sent a word of warning to its members to
desist from forming any association as all candidates are now
party’s property.
The warning was issued by the state chairman of the party, Hon.
Sani Hashim Hotoro, while announcing the formation of 2007
campaign committees.
The committees include publicity to be chaired by commissioner
of environment, Alhaji Garba Yusuf Abubakar, while Alhaji Shehu
M. Tsaudawa and Alhaji Gali Sadiq are to serve as secretary and
assistant secretary respectively.
The contact committee is to be chaired by Alhaji Salihu Sagir
Takai and Alhaji Lawal Muhammad Tsanyawa to act as secretary;
documentary research, secretary, legal, women youth and
reconciliation committees are to be chaired by Dr. Muktari A.
Yusuf, AIG (rtd) Bashir Albasu, Barrister Aliyu Umar, Hajiya
Balaraba Maitama, and Alhaji Khalid M. Sani Bichi respectively.
The secretaries are Alhaji Abubakar Baba, A.C.P. (rtd) Muhammad
A. Yusuf Indabawa, Alhaji Baffa Babba Dan-Agundi, Hajiya Hauwa
Date, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa and Alhaji Sulaiman Lawal Gezawa
respectively.
Other committees are the zonal and local government committees,
which are to be chaired by the senatorial aspirants to be
assisted by the zonal vice chairman with committee members of
all aspiring candidates of state and National Assemblies, former
local government council chairmen, party chairmen, while state
zonal secretaries of the party are to serve as secretaries.
As for the local governments, member contesting for the state
assembly is to chair the committee, while the local government
party chairman is to deputise for him.
Meanwhile, governor’s representative at the local government is
to serve as coordinator, while the local government secretary is
the secretary and at the same structure is to apply at ward
levels.
Hon. Hotoro also called on all members of the party who have
bought forms and consensus has been reached to claim their money
if they so wish.
He further called on the members of the press and the general
public to maintain the tempo of peace for which Kano is known
since the inception of this administration.
The press briefing was attended by the deputy chairman, state
secretary, treasurer, organizing secretary, three vice zonal
chairmen, other party executives, directors and party members.
