Adviser appeals to Kano electorate on civic rights
By HASSAN MUSA K/MATA

AS the voter registration exercise ends today nationwide, Special Adviser to the Kano state Governor on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Alhaji Abba Shehu Ahmad has re-echoed the clarion call on people in the state to exercise their civic rights so that they vote a government which policies and programmes hinge on human development and Sharia implementation.
Speaking to Daily Triumph when he visited our office yesterday, Alhaji Ahmad observed that the people of Kano state should use their votes to re-elect the government of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for its laudable programmes which have greatly transformed the lives of the people.
He said it is now almost four years since the present administration came to power to impact on people’s lives and therefore charged the people to weigh between a government which has the interest of the people at heart and that which policies are inimical to their development.
According to him, Governor Shekarau has been providing good leadership worthy of emulation by all, stressing that the governor, despite political party differences, declared today a public holiday for all to obtain their voter registration cards so that they vote candidates of their choice.
The special adviser noted further that the governor has met with the state commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and has been given the assurance that all problems associated with the exercise have been sorted out.
Alhaji Ahmad therefore implored all eligible voters to avail themselves of the opportunity by exercising their rights and wisely too.
