Just as the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) continues to suffer mass dissertation of members in Niger state, the party’s strongman in the state, Alhaji Muhammadu Bawa Rijau is set to decamp to the ANPP.
His son, Alhaji Kabiru Bawa who hinted journalists on the matter, further confirmed this development,stressing that the decision by his father to leave the PDP for ANPP was based on principles.
In a telephone interview with our correspondent in Minna, Alhaji Kabiru Bawa averred that, his father was seriously humiliated by the PDP as according him, “he was used and dumped”
Alhaji Kabiru Bawa the Shattiman Kontagora, who is also vying for the Niger north senatorial seat under the ANPP, said arrangements are at final stage for his father, who he described as his political mentor and coach, to decamp to the ANPP.
Alhaji Muhammadu Bawa Rijau the Turakin Kontagora has been a political big shot in Niger state, especially the zone C of the state.
It was reliably gathered that, his exit from the PDP may not be unconnected with the political wranglings in the party, whereby those who matters are parting their ways.
