I ‘ll live up to peoples’ expectations –Barr. Suleiman
From ABBa Lawan Kurmawa, Sokoto

A DEMOCRATIC Peoples’ Party (DPP) Senatorial candidate in Sokoto central district, Barrister Suleiman Usman, has stated that, his main mission was to live a life of service to the people.
Barrister Usman disclosed this when he recently featured at the political forum of the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ).
He said, “I have seen poverty and riches,” adding that, his main preoccupation, as a senatorial candidate, would be offering service to the nation.
Barrister Suleiman said he would make sure that, more fund is re-injected into the constituencies’ development fund, when elected.
“This will help in ensuring that more developmental projects are executed at the grassroot level in the country,” he said.
According to him, he would also make sure that, the federal legislators use their functions to improve the life of Nigerians.
“Right from the appropriation stage, I will ensure that, priority attention is given to provision of basic social amenities required by Nigerians,” Usman vowed.
Barrister Usman, who was also the former special adviser on legal matters to Governor Bafarawa, added that, legislation is a serious business.
He averred that, in the absence of the rule of law, anarchy sets in saying: “The days of struggles of might are right over.
“These days are the days for the subjugation for laws of the land. The rule of law is the foundation of democracy,” he opined.
The former special adviser stated that, those who violated the laws should be punished, stressing that, nobody should be above the law.
“Let the laws of the nation be ensured. This is very crucial to the survival of country,” he said.
