Kano NUJ hails Yakubu’s appointment by ‘Yar’adua
KANO state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has expressed joy over the appointment of one of its members, Malam Yakubu Musa as member of media team of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Umar Musa ‘Yaradua in the forthcoming general elections.
In a statement issued by the state council chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Abdullahi Arzai, the union said the appointment of Malam Yakubu as Special Assistant II (political) in the team by Katsina state governor is well deserved considering the dedication and professionalism of the appointee which is worthy of emulation.
“No doubt, hios appointment is an honour to all working journalists in Kano who usually excell in whatever capacity they found themselves nationally and internationally,” the statement maintained.
Indeed, the appointment of Yakubu the statement added, is a challenge to all journalists in the state to be more dedicated, objective and fair in the course of conducting their work.
Alhaji Abdullahi Arzai therefore congratulated Malam Yakubu Musa, urging him to justify the confidence reposed in him, wishing him success in his endeavour.
Until his appointment, Yakubu is the Kano state correspondent of Thisday Newspapers and acting chairman of the Correspondents chapel of NUJ.
