Kwande rules out AC, ANPP alliance...On presidency, governorships
From MU’AWUYA B. IDRIS, Katsina

A STALWART of the Action Congress (AC), Ambassador Yahaya Kwande has ruled out the possibility of AC/ANPP forming an alliance especially on presenting one presidential aspirant.
Kwande told newsmen in Katsina on Sunday that the alliance would only be feasible for the state and National Assemblies elections.
‘’We are going into the lower ladder as far as alliance is concerned; we are going to have the Houses of Assembly cooperating with each other,” he said.
He further said, ‘’the alliance will ensure that where they are weak we help them; where we are weak we expect they help us, but definitely not on the governorship and presidential elections.”
Ambassador Kwande explained that the alliance will not work because ‘’the other party in the bargain was joining other forces to fight them.”
His words: ‘’The other side in the ANPP, were the ones provoking our leadership. We found that they were aligning to fight us. That was the beginning of doubt in the alliance.”
On 2007 election, Ambassador Kwande said Nigerians would be ready to sacrifice their lives to ensure free and fair elections, pointing out that they can defend their votes as they did during the Plateau state by-election.
Ambassador Kwande explained that only free and fair election during 2007 election will ensure the sustenance of democracy.
