Pillars condemn ref Okporie
KANO Pillars Football Club has condemned the officiation officials led by centre referee Okoporie B. U. from Abia state for poor handling of their match against Niger Tornadoes FC at Bako Kontagora, Minna which eventually saw Pillars losing 0-1.
According to the club’s media officer, Shehu Adamu the officiating was something else and called on the Nigeria Football League (NFL) to address this situation once and for all for the development of the game in the cuntry.
Adamu, however, called on the NFL to ban the Minna stadium which according to him, is ‘’ a horse race pitch.’’ Whoever approved this stadium for the Premier league should be jailed.’’
He noted that it was shameful that the stadium was considered,’’this pitch is terrible, you can see it did not allow our boys to play well’’.
Meanwhile, Tornadoes’ Auwalu Aminu’s powerful grounder which beat Pillars’ Afelokhai Thoephilus in the 25 minutes gave his side the maximum three points.
However, Abdulwasiu Showemimo was given the marching order by the centre referee Okporie in the 65th minute for punching Tornadoes striker Fideli Saviour.
