By SALIHU N. MUHAMMAD

YOUTHS in Kano state have been advised to shun away from all social vices that could lead to unwanted pregnancies or self abortion.

Malam Gama stated that self abortion could lead to the destruction of womanhood, adding that sometimes it resulted into death due to excessive bleeding.
Malam Gama, therefore, called on the state ministry of health to checkmate the activities of some quack doctors who are engaging in the harmful practice in the state.
On unwanted pregnancies which is very common in the society, the consultant lamented that the problem occurs is due to negligence on the part of parents who do not keep a watch on the movement of their female children.
He urged youths to desist from having any affair that would result into pregnancy, stressing that “having any affair with sex partners may lead to STD, HIV/AIDS and unwanted pregnancy which can terminates one’s studies and it is a great sin in the sight of Allah because it is done outside marriage.”
He disclosed that about 28 youths have been settled from different schools to attend the training, adding that YEDEP gives education and support to youths in the state and is planning to establish a Health Promotion Club in the school.
