attempt by some undesirable elements employing devised evil ways
of vandalizing public property, particularly electric power
transformers and boreholes panels, which will create a negative
image to the state government that intends to use its
achievement over the years as a yard stick for re-election in
April.
The commissioner of information, Barrister Ibrahim Babale made
this known in a press release made available to journalists in
Bauchi, describing government’s efforts to provide excellent
services to the people to justify the eight years mandate it
enjoys.

effort in transforming the state to a model one at least in the
north-east region before the end of its tenure in May, 2007.
The mischievous plan, according to the government press release,
is being systematically unleashed by those it called myopic and
unprogressive elements, adding that the method adopted by the
unscrupulous persons, is part of a grand design employed by
opponents of the Mu’azu administration who desire power at all
cost without specific agenda of action to benefit.
Barrister Babale said the youths are being used to cause
confusion and lawlessness in the state by destroying the
existing dividends of democracy executed to the door steps of
the people by the good government of Bauchi state, noting that
the government has already alerted the people, council chairmen,
district and village heads as well as other opinion and
community leaders to guard and protect the provided facilities
located in their areas, adding that security agents and other
leaders, have been directed to arrest any person of group of
persons caught in the destruction of public property for
possible prosecution.

(ANPP legal adviser, Barrister Mustapha Ahmad, has pointed
accusing fingers at the state governor Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, of
making several attempts to interfere with courts judgments that
are not in the favour of government.
He made the accusation in a press conference at the NUJ Press
Centre along Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi.

government federal constituency in the House of Representatives,
alleged that, on several occasions, governor Mu’azu, had visited
the chambers of judges.
Barrister Ahmad said, the situation in Bauchi state is becoming
unbearable as the governor has muzzled life out of the two arms
of the government (judiciary and of course legislature), to have
an enabling environment for full-blown dictatorship in a
democracy that should be resisted by the people with several
threats and intimidation on opposition parties.
