Ex-council boss urges people to register
By BALA ABUBAKAR

THE former Bichi local government chairman in Kano state, Alhaji Lawan Shehu has appealed to the people of the area to register before the expiration of the date set for the exercise.
Speaking to Daily Triumph in an exclusive interview, the ex-council chairman stressed the need for the people to exercise their rights and register.
The council had constituted a committee to boost awareness on the ongoing voter registration exercise in the area.
Alhaji Bichi explained that the committee is to carry out enlightenment campaign in all parts of the area to ensure the success of the exercise.
The former council boss said the success of the exercise depends largely on publicity and enlightenment programmes received by the people particularly those at the grassroots.
Alhaji Bichi charged members of the committee to exhibit a high sense of maturity in their assignment, saying that much is expected of them.
The former council chairman then called on the media to help the committee to actualize its assignment in the area.
