Daily Triumph reports that, following the inability to adopt a candidate, the party leadership, along with some elders, among whom were the former interim national chairman, Alhaji Hassan Zurmi, former labour minister Musa Gwadabe met at the residence of the Zonal vice chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, and agreed on consensus that, Saleh Shehu be given the candidacy, while Aminu Dalhatu and Captain Kaugama should produce the deputy governor and 40 per cent of total appointees, secretary to the state government 20 per cent appointees respectively.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to announce that, our national secretariat has confirmed that, Alhaji Aminu Dalhatu is the genuine and bonafide candidate for the governorship of Jigawa state”, said the AC chairman.
He urged all the factions to come together and work for the success of the party in the April elections, saying people should not take electoral contest as a matter of life and death.
Ambassador Sulaiman, while expressing optimism about his party’s chances in winning the election, maintained that, this should only be possible if there is good and harmonious relationship between all party men and women.
In his reaction, the gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Aminu Dalhatu, promised to embark on the reconciliation move, with a view to winning back all agrieved partymen, especially those that contested along with him.
