Bauchi guber
candidate promises to tackle unemployment
From SULE ALIYU, Bauchi
A PDP gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi state, Alhaji Muhammad
Nadada Umar, Zannan Misau, has described unemployment in the
country as a time-bomb and promised to wage a war against it in
Bauchi state if he eventually assumed the mantle of leadership
in the forthcoming general elections.
Nadada told a press conference at Awalah Hotel, Bauchi that so
long as the trend persists, the socio-economic and political
fortunes of the citizenry would be in jeopardy as according to
him, no Nigerian could be able to perform his or her lawful
duties.
“Unemployment is a national problem, you as journalists or any
other profession will not enjoy your journalistic work unless
the youth get employment if they don’t get employment, they will
not allow you to enjoy the job”, he said.
Other priority areas according to him, are agriculture and
health, making farming an all year round event and stimulating
the growth of medium and small-scale agro-allied ventures
towards gainful employment of the citizenry.
“The agricultural sector will be revolutionized by making it
possible for farmers to be engaged the whole year and this will
stimulate the economic sector towards reducing poverty”, Nadada
said.
Highlighting the main thrust of his agenda, the Bauchi PDP
candidate said his administration would maintain wide
consultation to make decision making process participatory.
The soft-spoken politician further told the press that his
administration would redouble the current efforts on youths and
women empowerment”.
According to him, the PDP administration under his leadership in
Bauchi state would enforce the rule of law in governance so as
to maintain discipline and accountability in the system.
He stated that while his administration would sustain the
on-going reform and transformation in education and health
sectors, it would equally encourage science, technology and
computer education in the state.
The Zannan Misau, a former Bauchi state secretary to the state
government (SSG), assured the people of the state that security
of lives and property of the citizenry would not only be
maintained but also improved so as to make life better for the
teeming people of the state.
Nadada used the forum to commend the people of the state,
particularly the security,press, traditional institutions,
religious and community leaders and teeming supporters of the
PDP for their support to his electioneering campaign.
He expressed optimism that from the massive support witnessed
during his campaigns across the 16 of the 20 local government
councils, the PDP would win all the seats in the general polls.
