Khalil offers panacea to Muslims disunity
By ALIYU UMAR
Albishir editor

ACQUIRING knowledge through Western mode of education has been described as lasting solution to sectarian conflicts among Muslims and Islamic scholars in Kano, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil has observed.
He made the observation while delivering a lecture on the occasion of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MISSN) week organised by Kano Area of the Society which was held at Sani Abacha Indoor Sports Complex, Kofar Mata.
According to him, sectarian conflicts among Muslims the world over can be seen as the major cause of their backwardness in all facets of human endeavour.
He therefore advised that parents should endeavour to get their wards enrolled in schools for them to acquire knowledge through Western mode of education so as to be free from violence.
To the government of the day, the Islamic scholar asserted that unless Western mode of education is encouraged, no meaningful success would be achieved in its efforts to implement divine law across the state.
Sheikh Khalil then drew the attention of Muslims to be original in their thinking, adding, that as far as he was concerned, people like Governor Shekarau should be given a second chance to govern the state in the
interest of development.
Speaking earlier, the deputy Amir of the society, Malam Mustapha Ibrahim Imam had said that this year’s MSS week was taken to rural settlements for wider coverage.
