Uganda ‘ll see hell in Kampala - Kanu
Despite the unconvincing performance of the Super Eagles in last Saturday's African Cup of Nation's qualifying match against Uganda, captain, Nwankwo Kanu says the second leg will be a different ball game in Kampala.
Kanu told KICK OFF that the pitch at the MKO Abiola Stadium did not help matters but it would not do much good to keep talking about it but the second leg in Uganda where the Cranes have promised a good pitch.
"I hear them keep saying that they will deal with us in Kampala because they have a better pitch there than what we played in and I say thank God.
"I pray their pitch is as good as they claim it is because they will see a different Eagles side in that match. It is good that they are talking like that so now we must do the talking by getting the three points to show them that we are still Nigeria."
Kanu told KICK OFF that in football the most important thing is three points which the Eagles got on the day but Nigerians are not convinced.
"We did not play as well as we should but we won. I think that is the aspect Nigerians should be looking at. If you noticed our game picked up in the second half so we did not just relax only to blame the pitch we actually gave it our best.
"I wish during the World Cup qualifiers we were able to play the worst football but won every match 1-0."
Uganda hosts Nigeria in the second leg on June 2.
