Pineapple sale booms in Kebbi over
politics
Fruit sellers in Kebbi state are now concentrating on the sale of
pineapple, following the ``politicisation” of the patronage of the
fruit in the state.
Pineapple, a popular fruit, is now the symbol of one of the
political parties in the country, - the Democratic People’s Party (DPP).
The sellers are making brisk business as politicians have turned the
fruit to a 'gift item' for distribution to their loved ones and
party supporters.
The News Agency of Nigeria observed that many supporters and members
of the DPP in the state exchanged pineapples as their Christmas,
Sallah and New Year gifts.
