Omeruah: Kanu doles out N.5m
Super Eagles captain and Portsmouth of England forward Nwankwo Kanu, has donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira towards a befitting burial for late former NFA Chairman, Samson Emeka Omeruah , reports Nigeriansportsonline.com.
The money was made available through his charity organisation, Kanu Heart Foundation.
Coordinator of the foundation, Deacon Onyebuchi Abia revealed this to Nigeriansportsonline.com on Thursday.
“Kanu has drawn a draft of five hundred thousand naira [N.5m] to ensure a befitting burial of the remains of late Emeka Omeruah”, Abia disclosed.
“The amount is being made available through the Kanu Heart Foundation, KHF.
“Every Nigerian knows what Omeruah stood for in Nigerian sports and the contributions he made.
“Under him the country attained an all time high in global soccer and it is Kanu's view that no sacrifice is big or small enough to accord him a befitting burial hence his (Kanu's) widow's mite', Abia said.
The late Omeruah died in a London hospital in December 2006.
