Man jailed for impersonation
From Mustapha Saye, Kaduna

Magistrate Court Two, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Kaduna, Friday remanded one Ubale Ma’aji Yakubu of number 7 Abuja Road, Kabala Costain Kaduna in prison custody for impersonation and cheating.
The prosecutor, police inspector Lukah Shehu told the court that the suspect has been parading himself as a journalist by using the name of Muhammad Ibrahim Bungub of the Kaduna state Media Corporation to dupe the public which was contrary to section 152/321 Penal Code.
The Court was told that the suspect has posed as Ibrahim Bungus to dupe the Kaduna state local government Auditor General, Mr. Felix Bakura on the 08/01/2007 before he was arrested and taken to the Gabasawa Police station for investigation.
The trial judge, Chief Magistrate Nasiru Idris Lere Esq however remanded the suspect in prison custody for hearing on the 05/02/2007 of February.
It could be recalled that the suspect had committed similar offence last year by posing as a Mohammed Ibrahim Bungus of the KSMC and duped the former permanent secretary Bureau for Religions Affairs, Christian Matters, Mr. Elisha Buba Yero large sums of money before he was arrested and taken to court.
Ubale was latter released in view of the plea made by his aged father that the son would not commit such offence in future.
