We ‘ll employ financial prudence--New Pillars Boss
CHAIRMAN of Kano Pillars Football Club, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida has pledged to employ financial prudence and effective administration towards achieving a greater height in the upcoming Premier league next year.
In his vote of thanks shortly after the inauguration ceremony of the newly reconstituted club’s board, Alhaji Babangida explained that all neccessary machinery have been put in place by the new management committee to achieve the desired goals.
Babangida said that the club have come a long way, and it is good enough that most of us now saddled with the responsibility of a giving new lease of life to the club are not new to what is at stake in running the affairs of a club like Pillars in the country.
‘’But we can only achieve our target with the understanding and support of every stakeholder in the club as we are determined to run an open door policy’’.
‘’The most paramount task of this management will be the welfare of the players and officials of the club as they are the key players in our quest for a successful season’’ he explained.
The chairman said that everybody is a manager of the club, adding that the board are ready to accept advise, objective and concrete criticism that will move the club forward, as it belongs to all of us.
‘’The challenging task of running the club is to make it one of the teams to beat in the league and considering the keen interest shown on the affairs of the club by our sports loving governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, whose administrative policy is fiscal discipline in all aspect of government undertakings coupled with his desire to eschew corruption this can be achieved’’ he said.
He then called on the members of the sporting press in the state and the country in general to assist the board towards the overall development of the club.
‘’As for the supporters, one of your members is on board, which is an indication of the state government’s appreciation of your valuable contribution. He is your liaison officer and we will not fail you in the discharge of our responsibility, but importantly, you should try by all means to avoid any act of hooliganism that will derail our set target’’.
‘’I know Kano Pillars supporters. Today you are the best-behaved supporters in the country. I hope and pray that you will continue with this spirit. We will give our support to the fans club in their effort to promoted the course of our darling team’’ he emphasised.
Babangida, however, thanked the state government for the confidence reposed in them and pledged that his board will do everything possible to improve the standard of the team.
