Our projects tailored towards human development --Gov. Shekarau
KANO state governor, Malam, Ibrahim Shekarau has restated government’sresolve to continue executing developmental projects across the state.
The governor who spoke through the commissioner for local government, Alhaji Musa Sulaiman Shanono at the commissioning of Gangaren Dutse Bakoshi electrification project in Shanono local government said N8.8 milion has been spent in executing the project, explaining that the project was part of constituency projects designed to develop the grassroots.
The commissioner further stated that an Islamiyya school was provided at Jigawar Kadamu at the cost of N876,821.40, completion of Tsaure Juma’at Mosque at N3.4 million and building of blocks at Lemi, Gudan Tuwa and Ajalawa at the cost of N2.6 million among others.
In the same vein, the commissioner laid the foundation stone of a duplex classroom block at Faruruwa Junior Secondary School also in Shanono local government as part of the constituency projects approved by the state government.
The governor said the project would gulp N4.2 million with the provision of furniture to give room for more children in the area to obtain formal education.
Malam Shekarau also stated that an Islamiyya school would be provided at Danshado and Dankuki at the cost of N2.2 million, daily prayer mosques would also be built at Tuba, Goron Dutse, Kofar Gabas in Shanono and Gidan Malamai at the total cost of over N2 million, while N2.5 million would be expended to provide suitable drinking water at Faruruwa .
The governor then appealed to the people who benefitted from the projects to complement government’s efforts by taking good care of them.
In his address, the chairman of Shanono local government council, Alhaji Ali Isa Shanono thanked the government under Governor Ibrahim Shekarau for resolving to execute various projects for the development of the area.
Also stressing, the District Head of Shanono, Uban Doman Kano, Alhaji Sani Gaya assured that the people in the area would make good use of the projects, pledging to continue praying for the peaceful conduct of the on-going voters’ registration and 2007 general elections.
