All Stars host Kurmi Market today *Organisers to honour Shekarau, Emir Bayero, Abacha, others

All Stars Football Club will lock horns with Kurmi Market in the final of this year’s Under-18 Shekarau Cup at Sani Abacha Stadium today.
The competition was organised by the state chapter of the Grassroots Soccer Development Organisation (GRASDO) and is expected to attract eminent personalities within and outside the state.
The association ‘s chairman, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi said that apart from football match, the organisers will also honours the Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero and the state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for their moral and financial support to the upliftment of grassroots competition in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi further hinted that the association, however, will honour the late General Sani Abacha for his contributions to the construction of the international stadium in the ancient city of Kano during his life time.
The eminent personalities expected to attend the occasion included the state commissioner of Information, youth, sports and culture, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba, the Special Adviser to Kano state Governor on Sports Development, Alhaji Kabiru Waya, the state director of sports, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba among others.
Alhaji Salisu Sambajo is expected to be the guest speaker while Alhaji Bature Abdul’Azeez, the chairman of Kwari Market is the chairman of the occasion.
Some local government chairmen in Kano state will also be honoured for their numerous contributions for sports development in the state.
