Masari tasks PDP leaders on fair treatment
From MUAWUYA B. IDRIS, Katsina

A front-runner PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Katsina state and Speaker , Federal House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, has called on the PDP officials in the state to be fair and just while treating aspirants contesting under the party, warning that favouring one aspirant over the other would eventually lead the party to lose elections.
Alhaji Masari who was speaking while submitting his gubernatorial nomination form to PDP officials on Friday said the alleged attempt to favour one aspirant over others was not a healthy situation.
“You should fear Allah and treat aspirants equally, you should not take directives from anybody to satisfy his interest because you will answer all your deeds in the hereafter”, he emphasised.
Our correspondent learnt that the utterances of Speaker Masari may not be unconnected with the alleged imposition of Alhaji Shehu Shema as the Aso Rock anointed gubernatorial aspirant.
Speaker Masari who spoke through his director-general, campaign organisation, Alhaji Muhtari Lawal said his emergence as gubernatorial aspirant was a will of Allah and should be accepted by all.
He further said, “I appeal to PDP officials in Katsina to ensure justice, nobody can harm you, nobody can make you poor”.
Speaker Masari advised the state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Kabir Maiwada Daudawa to always abide by everybody’s sermon that “God is the only provider who has the power to dictate what should be”.
Responding, the, financial secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Mamman Saulawa said the party will continue to pray for emergence of credible aspirants.
Alhaji Saulawa called on the party leaders to continue to work towards its victory come 2007 elections.
