PLSG to renovate Jos market
The Plateau state government has assured the people of the state that it will renovate the burnt down Jos Ultra-modern Main Market and complete all hospitals under construction in the state within the set time frame.
Governor Michael Botmang disclosed this when the Berom people paid him a solidarity visit at Government House Rayfield. The delegation was led by Berom Elders' Council chairman, Maj. Gen. Peter Gyang Sha (rtd).
The governor further assured that all retired civil servants currently not enjoying gratuity and pension will start collecting them as from this month, in addition to the prompt payment of workers salaries.
According to him, despite the time constraint, the administration was poised to make a mark in the lives of ordinary citizens and wondered why a civil servant who has served his state meritoriously should be left to starve on retirement.
He assured that he would review upwards scholarship award of students, describing the present amount being paid to them as unimaginable .
Chief Botmang assured that all aspects of injustice, neglect and marginalisation will be addressed while all segments of the society will be carried along.
He said his administration would be all-inclusive, adding that the task before it was to ensure that peace, love and understanding among the people of the state were restored.
He called on the people of the state to put the past behind them and look at the future with hope, adding that his door will remain wide open for constructive advice geared towards repositioning the state and bring back its lost glory.
Speaking earlier, Chairman Berom Elders Council, Maj. Gen. Peter Gyang Sha (rtd), advised the governor to beware of praise singers, saboteurs, boot-lickers and hangers-on as they will only truncate the administration's objectives and goals.
Also the Gbong Gwom Jos and chairman of Plateau Traditional Rulers in the state assured Governor Botmang that the entire people of the state were behind his administration.
