Group commends EFCC for anti-corruption crusade
A political group, the Kwara Progressive Movement (KPM), has commended the EFCC for investigating alleged corrupt practices of some government officials in Kwara.
The commendation was contained in a press release made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.
The group also praised the Kwara Redemption Network (KRN) and the Equity and Justice Forum (EJF) for writing the petitions that compelled the EFCC to beam its searchlight on the state.
The statement said that the EFCC had lived up to public expectations as a credible anti-corruption crusader.
It urged other groups to emulate KRN and EJF, by exposing corrupt practices in the society through similar petitions to the EFCC.
The statement noted that 16 local government chairmen had been invited by the EFCC for interrogation for tampering with funds allocated to their councils.
``The people of Kwara and, indeed, Nigerians are waiting for the outcome of the EFCC investigations,'' it stated.
