The Action Congress (AC) crisis in Gombe state is taking another dimension following the party’s executive council members' decision to disown former governor of the state, Alhaji Abubakar Habu Hashidu, as the party’s flagbearer.
The state chairman and secretary of the party, Barrister Joshua Lidani and Samuel Mamman, had earlier issued a press release jointly signed by them announcing the endorsement of Alhaji Abubakar Hashidu's candidature as the party’s gubernatorial flagbearer for the state, although, he did not participate in the gubernatorial primary election of the party in which

Fuel scarcity: Black markets operate as call points
Despite the degree of surveillance mounted by both uniform and plainclothed security agents in Gombe state, the prohibited petroleum black market operation is on the increase as hawkers have devised several ways of beating the security agents.
An investigation carried out by Sunday Triumph correspondent, shows that the black market operators will ever remain innovative in outsmarting the police and other relevant agencies for their business to continue.

Dalhatu promises goodies for Jigawa

THE Action Congress (AC) has said that if it forms government in Jigawa state come April, 2007, it will focus attention on the provision of quality education, good health, agricultural and rural development.
The gubernatorial candidate of the party, Alhaji Aminu Dalhatu made this known during a media conference in Dutse recently.
He noted that the main problem of Jigawa state was lack of development due to its rural nature which he said his government will tackle if given the mandate.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter has been invited to attend the 8th African Union (AU) Summit, which will bring together African heads of state and government, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) tomorrow.
Mali’s Alpha Oumar Konaré, the chairman of the African Union Commission, has requested the FIFA President’s presence for two main reasons.
