KTSHA assures quick passage of budget

KATSINA state House of Assembly will ensure quick passage of this year’s budget to enable government continue providing services.
The chairman of House Committee on Appropriation, Alhaji Gide Sani Batagarawa told newsmen that the House had no intention of delaying the passage of the budget.
Alhaji Batagarawa revealed that this year’s budget in the state will take care of the completion of all on-going projects and execution of new ones from the anticipated money from Paris Club.
He said some of the projects to be pursued included the construction of ultra-modern stadium, nine roads and electrification of towns and villages.
Alhaji Gide commended the state ministries and parastatals for their positive response during the just-concluded budget defence in the state.
Meanwhile, Katsina state government will spend about N800 million on the provision of water this year.
The state commissioner of water resources, Alhaji Sanusi Ibrahim Dankama told newsmen that the projects include the completion of work on Ajiwa generators, Funtua new water plant, construction of one semi-urban water scheme and rehabilitation of five others.
