endorses list: Shekarau appoints sole administrators for
Kano LGs

BARELY hours after the Kano state House of Assembly has approved
the nomination of sole administrators for the state’s 44 local
government councils, the state’s executive governor, Malam
Ibrahim Shekarau, has also approved the appointment and posting
of the sole administrators.
Eairlier, the Kano state House of Assembly has approved the
nomination of the sole administrators for all the 44 local
government councils of the state during its special session.
This, according to the Speaker of the House, Hon. Balarabe
Sa’idu Gani, was as a result of the letter sent to the House by
the state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, with reference
number: GHS/A/1/X, requesting the House to screen the names of
the nominees.
The Speaker added that Section 58(a) of the Kano State Local
Government Law No 3 2004 rests power on the state governor to
appoint sole administrators for the local government councils of
the state.
Based on that, the Speaker explained, the House agreed to hold a
session yesterday despite the fact that the House is on recess.
The Speaker made reference to some sections of the House rule
that allow them to hold such emergency sessions when a matter of
urgent concern arises.
The House, according to Hon. Gani, has during its Committee of
the ‘’Whole House” session unanimously resolved to approve the
names of the 44 nominees for appointment as sole administrators
of the council areas.
A list of the appointees made available to Weekend Triumph in a
press release issued and signed by the Governor’s Director of
Press and Public Relations, Alhaji Sule Yau Sule revealed the
names of the sole administrators, their local government of
origin, place of work and they local council they have been
assigned to as follow:
