Harmattan season: Katsina fire service on alert

KATSINA state fire service has been put on alert to overcome any possible fire disaster during the current harmattan season, state commissioner of information, Alhaji Haro Abdu Mashi has revealed.
Speaking with newsmen in Katsina, Alhaji Mashi explained that the department of fire service has enough facilities to arrest fire disaster in the state.
He warned people against sleeping with flames in the rooms, saying even if they have to, they should ensure their windows are open.
The commissioner further warned people against bush burning, pointing out that government will not relent in punishing culprits.
“I called on people to be extra careful in the use of fire during this harmattan season,” he warned.
Commenting on the on-going voter revalidation, Alhaji Mashi called on eligible people to ensure that they revalidate their voter card.
According to him, “The voter card is the only means of voting leaders of their choice.
