AS KHA endorses list: Shekarau appoints sole administrators for Kano LGs

BARELY hours after the Kano state House of Assembly has approved the nomination of sole administrators for the state’s 44 local government councils, the state’s executive governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has also approved the appointment and posting of the sole administrators.
Eairlier, the Kano state House of Assembly has approved the nomination of the sole administrators for all the 44 local government councils of the state during its special session.

Harmattan season: Katsina fire service on alert
From MU’AWUYA B. IDRIS, Katsina
KATSINA state fire service has been put on alert to overcome any possible fire disaster during the current harmattan season, state commissioner of information, Alhaji Haro Abdu Mashi has revealed.
Speaking with newsmen in Katsina, Alhaji Mashi explained that the department of fire service has enough facilities to arrest fire disaster in the state.

FG names new chairman for National Merit Award
Prof. Sylvester Adegoke has been appointed as the new chairman of the Nigerian National Merit Award.
He replaces Prof. Anya Oko Anya, who completed his statutory two-term tenure of six years in December 2006.
A statement from the secretariat of the award on Thursday in Abuja said Adegoke was a member of the award's Governing Board.
