Tanker drivers advises FG on pipeline vandalisation

The federal government has been advised to intensify security measures in protecting the pipelines of petroleum products with a view to stop the menace of vandalisation by disgruntled individuals. The chairman of Petroleum Tankers Drivers Association Kaduna state branch Comrade Nuhu Muhammad alias intelligent has said.
Comrade Muhammad who disclosed this in an interactive session with pressmen in his office said the issue of vandalisation of pipeline is alarming and very disheartening that need government to take strong measures to curtail it.
He said government has to take the matter seriously and has to save the lives and properties where by adequate security should be put in place adding that “Vandalisation has pose a threat to the socio-economic development”.
Comrade Nuhu also described the shortage of petroleum products in the country as unfortunate and called on the federal government to repair the refineries. He pointed out that the shortage of petroleum products hampered socio-economic activities in the country.
He, therefore pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience as his association and other bodies are doing all it could to solve the problems. He also note from reliable source that the FG has government ordered about seven ships of petroleum products.
