‘Yar’adua unveils agenda for Nigeria ... Launches campaign in Kano today

THE Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alhaji Umaru Musa ‘Yar’adua yesterday in Kaduna unveiled his seven action plan with a view to achieving his desired goal.
Alhaji Yar’adua who was in Kaduna in continuation of his presidential campaign, said that if he clinched the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria some of the major areas that his administration would focus include provision of adequte power supply to all nooks and cranny of the country, describing lack of energy as agreat threat to the socio- economic development of Nigerians.

Why I prayed for Atiku -- Alake
The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo said he prayed for Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to succeed in his presidential bid in his (Alake's) capacity as father to all.
He said this at a one-day meeting in Abeokuta , convened by INEC to sensitise the royal fathers in the South-West, for the successful conduct of April polls.
Gbadebo, who was the chairman of the occasion, said some mischief makers reported him to President Olusegun Obasanjo, for praying for Atiku.

FG begins commercialisation of own media
The federal government has started the process of restructuring four media organisations currently under the supervision of the Ministry of Information and Communication for full commercial operations.
The organisations are the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The exercise began with the review of the operations of the establishments by an international consulting firm.
