INEC fixes date for Bye-elections in Plateau

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Wednesday, December 6, 2006 to conduct bye election to fill the 14 seats declared vacant by Plateau state House of Assembly.
A statement signed by and issued to newsmen in Jos by Mr. Osaretin Imahiyereobo assistant director public affairs, said that the election will hold in eleven local government areas.
The local areas include Rukuba, Imgwe, Pengana, Bokkos, Jos east, Katana dengi, Kanke and Mikang.
Others are, Pankshin North, Pankshin South, Qua’an North, Shendam, Mangu South and Wase.
