By AKILU ABDULLAHI

THIS year’s Kano Forum (Inuwar jama’ar Kano) has distributed materials worth N11,485,604 made up of school furniture, textbooks, science equipment, building materials, home management equipment and teaching aids.
Chairman Board of Trustees of the Forum, Alhaji Magaji Dambatta, made the disclosure at the 12th distribution ceremony of educational support materials to local institutions of learning in the state.
During a speech at the ceremony, held at Farm Centre, Kano, Thursday, Dambatta emphasised that, in addition, “we are providing some specially required equipment for special education school, Tudun Maliki.”
He said because of the peculiar problems of the Tudun Maliki school, the forum has consistently being giving support materials to it, adding, “I should emphasise that our contribution to this school is by no means sufficient to meet its needs.”
“It is therefore important to invite stakeholders and philanthropists to extend helping hand to the school as well as to many of our educational institutions.”
In his address, Kano state education commissioner, Dr. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya, represented by the director, Private Schools, Tajudeen Gambo, said Kano state government would continue to support Kano Forum in all its activities.
Dr. Naniya then appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials which included furniture, textbooks and computer sets.
