Khaleel lambasts PDP government
From ATIKU S. SARKI, Abuja

THE former gubernatorial candidates in 2003 elections under the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Engr. Muhammad Nura Khalil has said that the manifesto of the party has sufficient framework to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development and empowerment of Katsina state and its people through the principle of equity and social justice.
Engr. Khalil stated this while picking nomination form at the National Secretariat of the party in Central Area Abuja on Wednesday to re-contest in the forthcoming 2007 elections.
According to him, the Katsina state government under the PDP has in the last seven years did not deliver the much anticipated dividends of democracy inspite of over N150 billion realised from the Federation Account and Internally generated revenue.
“It is a matter of regret that, the level and ineptitude of the PDP led government in Katsina has continued to exert an unbearable pressure on the entire fabric of the society,” he said.
The gubernatorial aspirant however, added that for the last seven years, even the most financial supporter of the PDP led government will agree that the administration has unwittingly undermined the foundation of its legitimacy.
He pointed out that poverty is now pervasive and unemployment has reached a record level while moral absolutes have been abandon in the state.
Engr. Khalil however assured that by the will of God and the support of Katsina people, he will offer a transparent, efficient, responsible and discipline leadership that will enhance productivity among the people of the state.
While anticipating the support of the party and its membership, the gubernatorial aspirant further said that he was motivated to re-contest in the elections basically by his deep concern over the alarming level of retrogression occasioned by abject poverty, unemployment, infrastructural decay, and falling standard of education.
He expressed happiness over the good leadership of the party and commended his supporters most especially in the state for their tolerance and patience despite the level of intimidation and ineptitude metted on them by PDP government.
Responding, the acting national chairman of the party and a deputy National chairman, Prince Ebuta Ayuka expressed appreciation with the development of ANPP in Katsina state.
He believed that with the credibility of the gubernatorial aspirant who was also a candidate in 2003 will fulfil the conditions of the party.
