Katsina police relations c’ttee calls for PTF

KATSINA state Police Community Relations Committee has called for the establishment of Police Trust Fund in the state.
The committee said the trust fund which is to be set up by state government will go along way in solving some of the problems facing police in the state.
According to a memorandum presented during the quarterly meeting of the committee, the fund will source its fund from the local government councils.
The memorandum which was presented by the chairman of the committee, Alhaji Balan Goggo, was adopted at a subcommittee was formed to look into the matter and submit its report to the main committee within one month.
Addressing the meeting earlier, Alhaji Balan Goggo who is also the District Head of Dutsin-Ma, said the committee will not deter from its resolution to foster unity and assistance to police in discharging their constitutional duties.
He called on the people not to relent in their effort in furnishing the police with vital information that will assist in reducing criminal activities in the state.
The state commissioner of police, represented by the Assistance commissioner of police in charge of CIA, Alhaji Halilu Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the committee for its assistance to police.
He called on the state committee to emulate the federal government’s Police Community Relations committee by launching police appeal fund in the state.
