Visation panel
worried over non-implementation of report
THE stakeholders of public presentation of the white papers on
the 2004 visitation panel to Kaduna Polytechnic and Federal
Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda respectively have expressed
dissatisfaction over the failure to fully implement the
recommendation of the reports.
The chairman of the presentation panel for Kaduna Polytechnic
and Kaura Namoda, Engr. Dr. A. T. Abdullahi, who spoke this at
the press briefing Tuesday at Kaduna Polytechnic, saying that
the minister of education, Mrs. Obigeli Ezekwesili, introduced a
new approach on the implementation of the recommendations on the
white papers as a new initiative to conduct in situ public
presentation reforms of education sector”.
He explained that the committee to conduct the public
presentation of the white papers were inaugurated by the
minister of state for education, Dr. Sayyadi Abba Ruma Friday,
January 19, 2007 at NUC, Abuja.
According to him, the minister, during the inauguration,
emphasized the role of presentation team is to collate
additional information suggestions by the governing council.
He maintained that the minister has affirmed that the
presentation is neither on inquest nor a public hearing, saying
recommendation made by the presentation panel will serve as an
agenda in the white paper for each institution for
implementation by individual governing council.
Engr. Abdullahi added that the composition of the presentation
team, which will cover Kaduna Polytechnic and Federal
Polytechnic Kaura Namoda is as follows. Engr. Dr. Ahmad Tijjani
Abdullahi, chairman; Dr. Haruna Aliyu, member; Barrister Aliyu
Umar, member; Alhaji Yakubu Hamza, member; Engr. B. K. Muhammad,
member; Mrs Kunbi Ogunnaike (FME) representation and Alhaji A.
B. Kurawa, NBTE as secretary.
It is also to prepare detailed report on the public presentation
and submit same to minister of education on Wednesday, February
7, 2007 in Abuja |
