Saddam may be executed ‘morrow
Former Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein will have his death sentence carried out tomorrow
(Sunday), the MSNBC reported.
A U.S. military officer confirmed that Saddam’s hanging — for
his involvement in 148 killings in 1982 — is set to occur on Sunday.
There is a chance the execution could take place Friday
(yesterday), the officer told MSNBC.
The deposed leader was sentenced last month to be executed
within 30 days.

Inferno: Shekarau assesses damage at
ministry

ABDULLAHI
GOVERNOR Ibrahim Shekarau of
Kano state on Thursday paid an unscheduled visit to the state
ministry of finance to assess the level of damage caused by a fire
incident which occurred last Wednesday evening.
Malam Shekarau who described the incident as unfortunate, thanked
the Almighty Allah that there was no loss of life and all vital
documents were not affected by the fire. .

Foreign-based pros storm F/Eagles camp
In his quest to successfully defend the African Youth
Championship (AYC) crown, head coach of the Flying Eagles Godwin
Uwua has invited three more foreign-based professionals to his
Congo-bound team.
The players are FC Barcelona attacker Salihu Mohammed, striker
Sylvanus Azeka of England's Portsmouth FC as well as an attacking
midfielder from Spanish second division side, Polidepitro FC. The
players will join the team in their final phase camping en-route the
championship.
