Borno finance ministry pledges to maintain standard
The Borno State Ministry of Finance said that it would strive hard to maintain its lead position in service delivery in the country.
``It is on record that the Borno State Ministry of Finance has been the best in the federation in terms of staff competence and service delivery.
``I want to stress that we will do everything humanly possible to retain this enviable position,'' Alhaji Mustapha Grema the Permanent Secretary of the ministry said.
Grema was speaking at workshop on Due Process and Procurement Act organised for auditors and procurement officers in the state service in Maiduguri.
He said the workshop was aimed at updating the participant's knowledge in mordern technics in the finance sector for better performance.
``As you listen to the contents of presentations at the workshop there is the need for you to understand and imbibe what you have learnt in the discharge of your duties.
``Government expects you to be more dedicated disciplined and prudent in the management of scarce resources at the end of the event,'' Grema said.
Also speaking the state Accountant General Alhaji Tijjani Umara commended the state government for sponsoring the workshop.
``Indeed we are most grateful and we wish to reiterate our unflinching loyalty and support to the administration of Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
``We also want to express our readiness to help in the attainment of his 10 point Agenda towards developing the state,'' Umara said.
