Stories from ISMAILA MUHAMMAD, Dutse
THE Emir of Dutse in Jigawa state, Alhaji (Dr.) Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi last Friday at his palace, urged Muslims in his domain and the rest of the country to ensure that they keep all food items, especially meat in order to avoid contracting bacteria which leads to diseases caused by lack of cleanliness.
The emir who made the call in his Eid-el Kabir message also directed Muslims Umma to nsure that meat is boiled or fried well and kept in a tidy environment for the safety of their lives and that of their families.
He reminded them that they must wash their hands before touching anything they eat because according to him, hands are the most agents of contracting contagious diseases, stating further that almost all diseases were being contracted through food or the air we breath.
The emir disclosed that last year, many people died through motor accidents and natural deaths adding that death is an inevitable upon human beings, animals and jinnis, but according to him, what is frightening is sustaining injury by accident victims which may eventually change their human shape.
Alhaji (Dr.) Sunusi added that most of the people on admission in hospitals were victims of automobile or motorcycle accidents, lamenting that the recklessness manner drivers and motorcyclists drive and ride in urban centres and highways was unfortunate and it becomes necessary and imperative for authorities concerned to draw their attention in order to reduce accidents on our roads.
“If you enter a motor or you ride Achaba and learn that the person driving you is not organized, inform to drive with care if he refuses, then stop the driver and drop for the safety of your life,” the emir pointed out.
He then warned commercial drivers and Achaba riders to fear God and to protect the lives of their passengers, noting that last year, his palace got reports of the death of thousands of people while others sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of recklessness while driving.
Alhaji Sunusi also warned Muslims to imbibe the culture of tolerance and perseverance in day-to-day dealings with their fellow human beings and also told them to be patient with their wives, children, neighbours and their business partners.
He urged Muslims to accept the destiny wether good or otherwise, and reminded them on the importance of sacrificing animals by those who have the means and congratulated Muslims Umma all over the world on the occasion of Eid-el Kabir.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Khadi Bashir Birnin Kudu described Eide-el Kabir as the Eid of blessing, faith and coming close to God, the Creator of the Heavens.
He urged Muslims to imbibe and emulate Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismail for their patience and a obedience to God’s order.
Ustaz Bashir warned Muslims to desist from rumour mongering and always pray for their leaders while leaders on their part, were warned to be fair and just to their followers and urged parents to enrol their children to schools.
