Enugu win veterans cup...As Alhajin Guru emerges MVP

Enugu state All Stars Football Club emerged winners of the veterans Tournament, after beating Abuja All Stars FC 2-1 in a keenly contested final last weekend at Campus Square, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Enugu side parading some past national team players like veteran Sylvanus Okpala were able to contain determined and attacking Abuja side led by skilful Hassan Abdallah, a former national team, Raccah Rovers FC of Kano and Enugu Rangers FC player.
To reach the final, Abuja side defeated Kano All Stars FC and Lagos All Stars FC, while Enugu beat Edo All Stars FC (the defending champions) and Bauchi All Stars.
The tournament sponsored by Lagos state governor, Barr. Babatunde Fashola also paraded such veterans as Henry Nwosu, Friday Elaho of Lagos FC and Rabiu Muhammad (Chanhu), Muhammad Musa, Abdullahi D. Abdullahi, Alhajin Guru and Garba Alan Shearer (the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of FinBank) of Kano All Stars FC.
Ahajin Guru who played for former Darma United of Kano and represented the state and national teams on several occasions in the 60s and 70s, won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the tournament.
