In Jigawa: dep-gov, commissioner, FA boss sheathe swords

Irked by the recent the crisis threatening the Jigawa Football Association, the Vice Chairman of the state Golden Stars Football Club, Alhaji Alili Galadima, has declared that the feud between him and the state deputy governor, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmoud Gumel is purely an administrative one and not personal as some people may have perceived.
The vice chairman stated this to Daily Triumph sports in an exclusive interview in his office in Dutse, adding that the existing problem between them is all geared towards the progress of the state darling team, adding that already the state government has released the sum of N10 million for as immediate take-off grant.
Alhaji Galadima stated that, “some people are trying to read negative interpretation into the quarrel between him and the state deputy governor and are refusing to understand that it was all in an attempt to move the football club in the state to greater heights”.
Galadima said, “in as much as the club has its problems he will continue to surmount them with the able assistance of the deputy governor who is also the chairman of the club”, he declared.
He said the FA have recently hired the services of about 15 players who are expected to play for the club against the following season while about 15 others have been on transfer from Kaduna United and other clubs.
He said the governor has also released the sum of N16million for the renovation of Hadejia Township stadium for the home matches of the Jigawa Stars while the stadia in Gumel and Birnin kudu were also given N16million each for the home matches of both Ajiya Babes FC and Hajaig Football Club.
