Ingawa LG rehabilitates boreholes N1.5m

Ingawa local government area in Katsina statehas provided N1.5million for the rehabilitation of 51 broke own boreholes across the area, chairman of the council, Alhaji Sama’ila Magaji has said.
Alhaji Sama’ila told newsmen that the boreholes will be repaired through direct labour adding that the council has inaugurated Boreholes Rehabilitation Committee to be chaired by the vice chairman of the local government, Alhaji Nura Aliyu Yandoma to address water problems facing the area.
Alhaji Magaji disclosed that the local government has also earmarked N1.2million for the rehabilitation of solar powered boreholes at Yandoma, Ladan and Saudawa.
The local government has constructed three tubewell near Masibil dam to provide enough water to the irrigation farmers at Masibil irrigation site.
In its effort to improve the standard of education, the local government has set aside N60million for the construction of Junior Secondary School at Karkarku apart from N28million spent for the completion of Yaya Junior Secondary School .
The council has also spent over N5million purchase of official car for the office of the chairman.
The contract for the expansion of the local government council chamber, he added, has also been awarded at cost of N2million.
