‘I would sign Vogts again’
NFA chairman Sani Lulu Abdullahi says that if given the opportunity to retrace his steps, he would sign former Super Eagles coach Berti Vogts again.
Lulu said in Abuja on Wednesday that despite the 'unpalatable' relationship that existed between the NFA and the World Cup winner during the German's time in charge, he would not do anything different from what he did over a year ago.
"I have no regrets signing Berti Vogts," Lulu said.
‘’Amodu and his local assistants will be given the same kind of conducive environment we gave to the foreign coaches.
"It was the best decision we could have taken at the time and if there is a chance to do so again, we will still sign him."
Lulu however stated that the poor working relationship between employer and employee convinced the NFA that local was the way to go in their search for Vogts' replacement.
"After the unpalatable experience we had with Vogts, we felt that it was time to go for our indigenous coaches, and that is why we decided to bring in Amodu.
"Amodu and his local assistants will be given the same kind of conducive environment we gave to the foreign coaches."
